“PAINLESS” Group Therapy

Jordan Valley’s whole-body approach to treating pain includes behavioral health. Our patients join group counseling to learn more about pain and share ways to cope. The “PAINLESS” group covers eight topics, including: pain cycle, assertiveness and acceptance, imagery and relaxation, negative cognitions, locus of control, expectations, styles of coping and self-care.

Frequently Asked Questions: Pain Management

Chronic pain often comes with a long list of medications. This program works with you to cut that list down while making sure you’re still taking what you need, safely and on schedule. It also includes group therapy, so you have tools beyond medication to help you cope.

Two main things. Medication management reviews what you’re taking and works to simplify it over time. The PAINLESS group is a counseling program where patients learn about pain and share ways to deal with it. Both are part of the same program.

It’s a group counseling program for people living with chronic pain. It runs through eight topics: the pain cycle, assertiveness and acceptance, imagery and relaxation, negative thinking, locus of control, expectations, coping styles, and self-care. It’s part of how Jordan Valley Health treats the whole person, not just the physical symptoms.

Walk-ins and referrals are both welcome. Jordan Valley Health tries to get you a medication-assisted treatment appointment within two days, and sometimes the same day. A behavioral health consultant will check in with you within five to seven days of that first appointment, then again at 30 days.

No. You can walk in on your own. A referral from your doctor works too, but it is not required.
