At 440 E Tampa St, Jordan Valley Health’s history and future come together.
The building has served many purposes over the years. It was once home to Alberta’s Hotel and Snack Bar, a historically Black hotel and restaurant, and later became the warehouse and distribution center for the Ozark Tractor and Implement Company. In the early 2000s, the City of Springfield sold the property to Jordan Valley Health.
When then CEO Brookes K. Miller toured the building with his team in 2008, he saw something others might have missed—an opportunity to create a space where more people could access care. Ruth Begley, who has been part of Jordan Valley Health for more than 20 years, remembers looking around and saying, “I sure hope you’ve got a plan because right now, this is nothing special.”
Thankfully, Brookes did have a plan. Within a year and a half, the building had been transformed into a new home for Jordan Valley Health.
Today, the Tampa location is much more than a clinic. It is Jordan Valley Health’s headquarters and home to our largest range of services in one location. Patients can access care from multiple teams under one roof, while our administrative teams work here to support the people and communities we serve across the region.
The Springfield: Tampa clinic is just one of the many locations Jordan Valley Health uses to serve our neighbors and improve access to care.
