Family Medicine
From checkups and sniffles to stomachaches and sprains, our primary care team team is here to provide long-term care and support.
Family Nurse Practitioner Abe Alahmad loves to care for patients. Abe went to the University of Central Missouri and graduated with his MSN. While at the University of Central Missouri, he specialized as a rural family nurse practitioner and served as the Student Body President. Abe has been working in the Southwest Missouri region for over a decade. He works at Jordan Valley's Tampa clinic.
Abe became a healthcare provider to help people. He started his career working with patients who were nearing the end of their lives and dealing with the long-term consequences of chronic disease that were often overlooked or poorly controlled. When he got into family practice, he wanted to help patients before they ended up on that road and help them live their best life. Abe enjoys getting to know patients from various walks of life, hearing their stories, and being able to impact their health in a positive way. He approaches patient care from a "partnership perspective." His goal is to not take over his patients' care, but to partner with them to make the best choices for their health. Abe is thankful for the opportunity to work closely with Jordan Valley's pharmacy, behavioral health, and pain management staff to meet patient's needs. His goal is to treat the "whole patient" and do so with mutual honesty and respect. Abe believes this is a solid foundation for a successful patient-provider relationship.
In addition to his work as an FNP, Abe volunteers at many different organizations. He currently volunteers regularly at his church and works at a food pantry that donates food to the community monthly. He also volunteers for various community clean-up projects. One session a year, Abe volunteers at Camp Barnabas and has done so for the last three years.
