Start Strong: Back-to-School Events

Back-to-school season is busy for most families. That's why Jordan Valley Health is here to be your one-stop shop for all your children's back-to-school health needs.

Walk into one of our Back-to-School clinics in 2027 for your student's well-child check, sports physical, dental screening, immunization(s), vision screening, and more. OR attend one of our many Start Strong Back-to-School events happening throughout southwest Missouri.

Start Strong In Clinic

You don't have to wait until an event in 2027 to visit a Jordan Valley Health location for your school health needs.

Our Start Strong services are available year long. You may walk in to any of the Start Strong program clinic locations below or schedule an appointment by calling (417) 831-0150.

Back-to-School Common Questions and Answers

- Jordan Valley Health will be focusing on helping students be ready for school from July 13, 2026-September 30, 2026. These services will also be available before and after this time period.
Services can be completed at the following locations:
- Buffalo
- Hollister
- Republic
- Springfield Grand
- Springfield Tampa
- Lebanon Highway 5 (North)
- Lebanon Evergreen (South)
- A Jordan Valley Health mobile unit / with a Jordan Valley Health school-based care program
- At a Jordan Valley Health Start Strong Back-to-School event
You do NOT have to wait until a Start Strong Back-to-School event to see a provider for back-to-school screenings and/or immunizations.
A care team member will work with a student entering Kindergarten through Grade 12 for getting preventive care for 2 or more of the following services:
- Well-Child Check-Up (within the last 12 months)
- Vision Exam (within the last 12 months)
  OR complete a vision screening at the event
- Dental Exam (within the last 6 months)
  OR complete a dental screening at the event
- Immunizations (up to date)
  OR receive immunizations at the event
- Sports Physical (within the last two years)
  OR complete one at the event
These services listed are based on recommended health screening guidelines for students.
Yes! The events themselves are no cost to attend.

For example, if you decide to attend the back-to-school event at our Grand Clinic in Springfield, there is no event admission or cost to come and get a balloon animal, play games, and/or grab a snack.

There may be a fee for some health services.
To be honest —maybe. A potential wait time depends on the location and what service you are coming in for. We will get you connected with a provider as soon as possible.

Jordan Valley Health offers a Slide Discount Program based on household size and income for uninsured patients or for services that are not fully covered by insurance. We also accept Medicaid. I
