Michael Kulasekera

Dr. Michael Kulasekera, DO is a dedicated family medicine physician serving patients at Jordan Valley Health's Hollister, Springfield (Benton), and Lebanon (Highway 5) locations. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, along with a Master of Arts in Bioethics, from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where he graduated in the top 15% of his class. He went on to complete his family medicine residency through the KCU-GME Consortium/Freeman Family Medicine program, where he was honored to serve as Chief Resident. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Wright State University, with minors in public health and music.

Michael became a provider to help people who are struggling, drawn to medicine by his love of critical thinking, learning, and the complexity of the field. His goal is to make every patient feel comfortable, heard, and genuinely understood. He believes in working together with his patients as a team while approaching each person with honesty, respect, and a non-judgmental spirit so they can achieve their health goals together. His professional interests include LGBTQ+ health, women's health, and sexual and reproductive health, and he has been actively involved in research and advocacy throughout his training, including leadership roles promoting inclusive, patient-centered care.

Outside of medicine, Michael is an avid horticulturist with specialized expertise in tropical "aroid" plants as well as a lifelong musician.
