Matthew "Matt" Cox is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Health Clinician dedicated to helping people navigate life's hardest moments. He earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, following a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Utah State University in Logan. His diverse background has given him a deep understanding of the many challenges people face, and the compassion to meet them wherever they are.
Matt became a provider because he wanted to support others when they struggle with mental health challenges, which can so often feel lonely and misunderstood. "I have always enjoyed helping others find the best in themselves," he shares. Matt enjoys traditional talk therapy and works to help each person feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed enough to work on the most difficult parts of their lives. He typically uses a CBT-based approach, partnering with clients to uncover negative thinking patterns and emotional reactions, so they can challenge and replace them with something more positive. Above all, he wants patients to feel empowered to use positive coping skills to sustain meaningful change.
Outside of work, Matt loves spending time with his family, the outdoors, and is an Eagle Scout.
