Our team is here to help you find the right combination of medicines to improve your mental health.
Jewelia Bennett is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Jordan Valley Health's Springfield: Tampa location, specializing in behavioral medicine. She became a PMHNP-BC because she genuinely wants to make a difference in her patients' lives by helping them navigate mental health challenges.
Jewelia earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Northern Kentucky University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Missouri Southern State University. Over more than 25 years, she has dedicated her career to supporting the mental health of young families by screening new mothers for postpartum depression, leading support groups for parents and siblings of infants in neonatal intensive care and helping families through the challenges of neonatal abstinence syndrome. She also spent four years coordinating care for pregnant and pediatric patients in an inner-city psychiatric clinic, where she helped patients safely use their medications and manage side effects. There, she created ADHD and breastfeeding support groups that helped bring about a 9% drop in open child protective services cases. Today, her clinical experience spans both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults.
