Derek Smith

Dr. Derek Smith is a dental director specializing in care for patients with special needs. Dr. Smith received his DDS from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Smith started at Jordan Valley in 2008.

Dr. Smith became a provider because he was interested in medicine. In particular, he loved the surgical and intricate details of dentistry. As a dental provider, Dr. Smith enjoys being able to apply technical skills and problem solving while connecting with people. Dr. Smith wants his patients to know that he has the most ideal but realistic care plan for each patient. He wants his patients to understand their options and help them make educated decisions about their oral health.

In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys water skiing and hunting.
