Jordan Valley Health Foundation Receives $505,000 Gift from Healthy Blue to Expand Access to Dental Care

SPRINGFIELD, MO — The Jordan Valley Health Foundation has received a transformational $505,000 gift from Healthy Blue to support the future purchase of a mobile dental unit, expanding Jordan Valley Health’s ability to bring critical oral healthcare services directly to communities with limited access to care.

“Access to dental care is a critical part of overall health, yet too many individuals and families face barriers that prevent them from receiving the care they need,” said Dr. Nick Pfannenstiel, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Jordan Valley Health. “This generous gift from Healthy Blue will help us extend our reach into communities where access to dental services can be limited. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and commitment to improving the health of Missourians.”

The $505,000 gift represents a significant investment in the future of mobile healthcare 
and builds on Jordan Valley Health’s mission to improve the community’s health through 
access and relationships.

“Partnerships like this make it possible to think beyond the walls of a traditional clinic,” said Kristy Carter, Executive Director of the Jordan Valley Health Foundation. “Healthy Blue’s support will help create new opportunities for patients to access essential dental care, regardless of where they live or the barriers they may face.”

The future mobile dental unit is expected to provide flexibility for Jordan Valley Health to expand dental outreach and bring services to communities where transportation and geographic distance can create significant challenges to receiving routine comprehensive dental care.

Healthy Blue President Jeff Davis said the investment reflects Healthy Blue’s commitment to supporting innovative solutions that improve access to care across Missouri.

“Oral health is an essential part of overall health, and where someone lives or whether they have reliable transportation should not stand between them and the care they need,” Davis said. “This investment will help Jordan Valley Health bring dental care directly into communities, removing barriers and helping more Missourians receive preventive and routine care before dental problems become more serious. We’re excited to partner with Jordan Valley Health on an innovative approach that can improve access and help people live healthier lives.”

Jordan Valley Health and the Jordan Valley Health Foundation will share additional information about the mobile dental unit, including its anticipated timeline and service areas, as plans move forward.
