RECA Resources
- What is RECA? The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) is a law that provides financial compensation to survivors of nuclear contamination resulting from federal activity during the Second World War and Cold War periods. This compensation enables claimants to offset medical expenses related to radiation-linked cancers, which were developed through exposure to Manhattan Project-era toxins. On July 4, 2025, RECA was expanded to include areas of Missouri.
- Who is eligible? Missourians who have lived, worked, or attended school near currently Coldwater Creek or Weldon Spring in the St. Louis metro area may be eligible for compensation.
- Where do I find an online claim form? https://www.justice.gov/civil/reca
- Other than the info session, where can I find additional information? Additional information for RECA may be found on websites for Missouri Senator Josh Hawley and the Department of Justice.
